The legendary radio host, Paul Harvey, whose career distributing “the rest of the story” with radio listeners engulfed over 70 years has been found dead at age 90. Hervey was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His first radio job was on KVOO-AM, way back in 1933! He was still in school at the time. “He delivered the news each day with his own unique style and commentary” said ABC news.

Harvey’s broadcasts were heard on over a thousand radio channels. His editorials were published in over three-hundred new journals. Paul Harvey’s son said that “My father and mother created from thin air what one day became radio and television news – in the past year, an industry has lost its godparents and today millions have lost a friend”. We hear that. Paul Harvey will be a hard act to follow.

Stop the presses – Lions team spokesman Bill Keenist reported today that Jon Kitna has been traded by the team to Dallas, in exchange for 32 yr old Anthony Henry, Cornerback. His contract is in its last year – he’s currently on a salary of 2.6 million, and he’s got a massive 1 million dollar roster bonus coming up in the summer.

jon Kitna, who entered the past three seasons as the Lions’ starting QB, was shelved by the lions onto injured reserve last season with a back injury. His roster bonus was 1 million, but he restructured his deal with the Cowboys.

Last week the media asked if the Lions were atempting to trade Kitna, Keenist said: “We look at options for trade for a lot of players, for all of our players, really. If something kind of came up where we had an opportunity to trade Jon and there was value for us, we would certainly look into that.” Watch this space to see how the deal pans out.

Then to top it all off at 4:30pm, Glenn Close and Robert Redford feature in the “The Natural” from 1984. In this movie, a mid 40s player turns the poor fortunes of his team into success in a heartwarming tale. So happy watching!

Could a Matt Cassell trade be in the runnings? Well recently, NFL.com has reported that the Lions were trying to get their hands on Matt Cassel, querterback for the Patriots. With this, they then indended to trade him over for Jay Cutler, quarterback for the Broncos.

Interestingly, both the Buccaneers and Lions tried to work three-way deals involving Cassel and Cutler, according to NFL.com, but the Broncos opted against them. The Patriots traded Cassel and linebacker Mike Vrabel to the Chiefs for a second-round pick instead.

So here we are with this decision, and now that it hasn’t worked out, what does that mean? That the Lions don’t like Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford as the No. 1 pick in the draft – or maybe that they do? It’s all a tangled web. But don’t be disheartened, because we will be sure to find out the truth soon enough.

Who wants to know about Monty Stratton, as the baseball season is approaching? TCM movie channel is showing a bit of ols skool action about Monty STratton.  The Stratton Story (11 a.m., TMC), is the 1949 bio-pic of Chicago White Sox pitcher Monty Stratton, features Jimmy Stewart and June Allyson in this classic film..

However, a few years later, in 1946, Stratton stunned the baseball world when they pitched back to minors. His return to baseball was rough sledding the other groups, because persistently bunted balls out of reach, but Stratton was finally able to make a successful return win 18 games with the C-Class Sherman East Texas League. The attempt to return was the subject of the film The Stratton Story (Sam Wood, 1949), which starred by James Stewart and June Allyson, with bigleaguers Gene Bearden, Bill Dickey Jimmy and dikes in jewel views – which is fine.

This is a sweet romantic film, which attracted the attention of youngsters, Jaane Tu … is undoubtedly the best teen touch in recent years. The music was great, the stars – Genelia and Imran – looked fresh and was well-written script.

Jodhaa Akbar

This is a historic masterpiece, the film was the first major success this year. Adding more power to claim their best film is magnificent sets and brilliant performances from the lead stars Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Dostana

This story of the film is unique – but only in Bollywood. In the film, Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham pretended to be a gay couple so they can live with Priyanka Chopra. The great film script and the actors’ comic time, not to mention Priyanka Chopra in bikinis, helped propel this movie to start.

Rock On!

India is the first rock band rocked film for several reasons – great music, great history and wonderful director-turned-actor Farhan Akhtar telly and actress Prachi Desai.

Heads up, this is the third time this movie has done. First it was called Memento, then Ghajini and now south of Aamir Ghajini. And the third might have been the poorest clients, but may have made the most money. Reason – Aamir great promotion strategies and the time of release (Christmas Day). The film broke all records of the Box-Office, collecting Rs.210 crores in two weeks.

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi

Look here, it may not have worked, and DDLJ, but Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi had managed to create something more than a ripple in the Box-Office. The film marked the debut of the model Anushka Bangalore Sharma.
