Chris Kunitz, who plays left wing, was aware his name had been spawning rumour, but it’s doubtful he anticipated he would be involved in dealings the Ducks might carry out – before the NHL trade deadline, on Wednesday. Thursday morning, he said “I’m a little shocked,” via phone after the Ducks traded Kunitz and Eric Tangradi (junior prospect) to the Pittsburgh Penguins for defenseman Ryan Whitney. David McNab, Ducks senior vice president, was charged with announcing the news of this change.

More from Kunitz – “I knew from the situation that we’re all in, both trying to make the playoffs, just the way it is with the salary cap and space, I knew that was obviously factored in there, but yeah, I’m definitely shocked,”

He also said – “It’s going to be tough now, but hopefully it will be something that will work in the future, I’m definitely excited to see some of their centermen and young players. You have to wait and see when you talk to the coach.”

Servers are topless in the Grand View Cafe Topless Cafe, which opened its doors on Monday to a crowd of perverts and sexy ladies. A sign outside says: “Over 18 only.” Another said, “no cameras, no touch, only in cash.”

On Tuesday, two men sipped coffee at a post while three topless waitresses and the bartender was near naked torso right next to topless waitress Susie Wiley. She said men, women and couples have stopped. The man said he was rather happy in his pants.

City officials have said the cafeteria met the letter of the law but the cafeteria raised the ire of dozens of residents when he went before the Planning Board of the city last month.

Samim Anghaie, a senior professor at the University of Florida, gad his office searched by the FBI on Wednesday. It was the result of a probe that alleges he and his family had made “hundreds of thousands of dollars of government funds obtained through fraud”.

Court documents filed by the U.S. Prosecutor’s Office in Tallahassee describe a criminal and civil investigation into “fraudulent” bills that led to him channelling hundreds of thousands of dollars straight to Anghaie, 59, his wife, Sousan, 54, and his two adult children.

A man by the name of Walter Zimmerman from United I-Cap Analytics tells me that the collapse of markets simultaneously combined (stocks / bonds, real estate, and commodities) have served to pull us into a real depression. We have crossed the threshold, even if you do not hear anything about in from the media or the powers that be. The encouragement and overall spending does not help matters here, and the expansion of public spending is only the beginning.

Congressional Democrats have learned to manage around Obama, judging from the overall bill of expenses of the House has just approved. That said, at least they haven’t been trying to sabotage America for political gain, unlike some Republicans.

Just when you think it can’t get any worse… a Miami man, Pablo Amador, described a “regular dad” who made music with his children and shared his gift -  teaching children how to play the piano -  a man known for a friendly hi and helping to jump-start a stalled auto – has bizarrely shot and killed his two daughters, wife and then killed himself. Trucks from News stations surrounded his white ranch home Yesterday as police and medics carried out the family, who were identified as being Pablo Josue Amador, 53; his 45-year-old wife, Maria; and their youngest daughters, Prescilla and Rosa, 14 and 13 years old respectively.

One teenage son escaped the violence unscathed, calling the emergency services at 5:58 a.m. as he ran from the house.  “It confuses me,” said 48-year-old Thelma Vallecillo, whose 13-year-old daughter took piano lessons at the house. “I don’t understand.” These are the words of a shocked community.

Amador’s biography,  posted on a Web site advertising his piano lessons, says he began doing music in Cuba and later earned his degree in America. Indeed,  The U.S. Copyright Office holds thirty-six music pieces by him – his songs, many written in Spanish, included “Beautiful Boy” and “Rose of Love”. Many of the songs were also religious in nature.

“He was a marvelous person and a tremendous professor,” said Sarait Betancourt, neighbour who had Amador teach her kids
The surviving son is still missing. Watch this space.

The key headlines are:

The CA dismissed the banks’ appeal, and held that unarranged overdraft charges are assessable for fairness. However, the CA expressly said that there was some hesitation in reaching its decision. This emphasises that the issue is difficult and complex and the CA declined the banks’ request to appeal its decision to the House of Lords.

What happens next?

The banks will be applying to the House of Lords for permission to appeal. This process of applying to the House of Lords is normal practice, and the CA’s decision shouldn’t be taken to mean the House of Lords will not grant permission to appeal.

There will be some media comment around banks having lost the appeal, and this may include speculation that the banks should now repay customers charges.  This is not correct because the CA has not said that our overdraft charges are unfair but that they are subject to the test of fairness.  Whether the charges are fair will be heard in the next phase of the test case.

The banks will continue to deal with customer enquiries and complaints about unarranged overdraft charges in the usual way. They expect the FSA waiver will remain in place until July 2009 and they are hopeful that it will continue to remain in place until the conclusion of the test case. The CA was explicit in recommending that County and Sheriff Courts continue to keep cases relating to unarranged overdraft charges on hold.

Nicholson lied to his investors – who had inserted around one hundred million dollars into various Westgate Funds since 2004 -  when he told them that his company had assets under its management system going from six-hundred to nine-hundred million dollars. In reality, the material value of the assets was far lower than this figure.

Here is the scoop on the “Seven Aphorisms of Summum”. In a decision that was pretty much expected from the U.S. Supreme Court has fully and unanimously ruled that a somewhat clandestine religious group / sect can not legally require officers in Utah to a monument in a park designated as public, that a monument of the Ten Commandments – that is, the proposed monument which shows the “Seven Aphorisms of Summum” (the source).

All this took place in the Case of Pleasant Grove City v. Summum. The Court confirmed the decision of the officials in Pleasant Grove City, Utah to reject the Salt Lake City-based Summum’s request for a permanent monument displaying the Seven Aphorisms in the city that a string of other monuments, including the Ten Commandments one. The Summum charged that city officials violated the free speech clause of the First Amendment, the Ten Commandments to be displayed in the park, but the rejection Seven Aphorisms of Summum monument. The 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of Summum, contend that the park was a public forum for private speech.

Unanimously and fully, the U.S. high court quashed the 10th Circuit’s decision proclaim the display of the monuments in the public park was, esentially, the public speech.

Justice Samuel Alito declared that the First Amendment “limited government regulation of private speech, but not in the regulation of public speech.” But Why would the courts discriminate against them? Maybe as they also run as a mummification service, for both humans and pets? Case closed?

Biggest Loser Twist & Recap 2009
icon1 richard | icon2 All News | icon4 02 25th, 2009| icon3Comments Off

Howdy folks, biggest loser wins has been getting everyone excited in what must be the most over the top emotional episode for all time on Biggest Loser, because of the biggest loser twist & biggest loser recap. There were couples breaking apart and trainers swapped following a particular “pop challenge”, which resulted in a rather sombre Ranch and a downright hysterical Bob – oh no!

biggest-loser-twist

In spite of this, everyone seemed to pick up their enthusiasm for a quite spectacular cycling challenge which finished episode 1 of the cliffhanger this week. Here are some of the highlights:

Number one – “Pedal Power”. Alison brought everyone to the gym and made them deal with two dramatically lit-up bicycles and said they were required to put as many miles on the team’s bike as they could and the team that rode the most miles would win a three-pound advantage in the next weigh-in and a trek bike for each member. But this would go on for twenty-four hours! The camaraderie and can-do spirit displayed at the end of the episode marked such a contrast to last season’s group, which is pretty inspiring.

Number two – “New Teams”. Subsequently to all the reorganisation of the teams, Filipe Sione, Helen and Mike transferred to Jillian’s team – Mandi, Aubrey and Dane moved over to Bob’s group after that. Sione sadly said “It’s almost like I am betraying someone I love.”

But unexpectedly, Bob pulled aside his former teammates before working out with his new group and embraced them all with tears and a crying expression.

“I’m having a real hard time,” he said. “I’m going to miss you guys. That’s just the bottom line.”

When he returned to the gymnasium, he attempted to gather up the energy and will to pump it but it took him quite some time.

When he revealed that this was the most devastating biggest loser twist he has ever come to grips with on the programme, there was soppy music and Bob Team Flashbacks, which was very emotional!
