Its groundhog day!

Do you ever feel like the same day is happening over and over again?

Pardon the ubiquitous reference to the movie, but from the Senate debate today on economic stimulus, with Obama meeting with congressional leaders this afternoon to discuss the legislation, and Obama tries to capture as many supporters as Republicans — despite all know will happen anyway – it seems like Groundhog Day, right? (Speaking of Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, which means we can expect six more weeks of winter.) In an interview yesterday before the Super Bowl, Obama told Matt Lauer on NBC that the confidence of Republicans to vote for any stimulus legislation.

 

“I’m sure at the time they actually have the final word on the package you will see a substantial support,” he said. “And people will say this is a serious effort. It has no reserve. We are going to be a cut – things that are not relevant to put people back to work now.” More Groundhog Day: This could be the week we hear more about what the government will seek in connection with the bank bailout.
