There has been a huge recall order for Maytag Refrigerators – Maytag will be recalling over 1 1/2 million fridges, including Jenn-Air Fridges, Maytag Fridges, Amana Fridges, Admiral Fridges, Magic Chef Fridges, Performa Fridges by Maytag and Crosley brand side-by-side and top-freezer Fridges as-well. These fridges were mainly purchased by consumers between Jan ’01 and Jan’04 – a bit late now perhaps for some. Here’s a diagram of the affected area of the Fridges.

The reason is that an electrical fault has been uncovered in the compressor relay system. If this fault develops, it can cause the cooling system to fail, and food to be wasted – but worse, it can cause a temperature spike, posing a risk of fire in the home.
