Pillsbury Winthrop Layoffs Uncovered on Train

According to a tip posted to the “above the law”, Robert Robbins, chief, Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman’s corporate and securities practice, blabbed on a cellphone about up and coming layoffs, while in a train for New York.  It appears that the content of Robbins’ conversation held together because the company issued a statement this afternoon confirming that the company will be cutting jobs. The statement asked forgiveness for the “unfortunate way, the rumors were confirmed.

The company declined comment after the declaration, including the number of lawyers and officials who will be affected. The report above the law pegs that number to 15-20 in four U.S. offices. Here is the statement of PILLSBURY:
“It is unfortunate that the modern economy is not firm or law firm adjustments can exclude their overall level. PILLSBURY and includes, among other measures for cost savings, reductions will be implemented to ensure that our resources are aligned with the needs of our business. We apologize for the unfortunate way in which public debates about our discounts. “
