The curfew has been lifted on Woodstock High School Woodstock Middle School and Etowah High School after a gun was found in a secondary school in Woodstock restroom ceiling.
The police lifted the isolation of the three schools, just 10 hours after the police launched a search for more weapons at Woodstock High School and another point after a gun was found and the two teenagers were remanded in custody at the school Thursday morning.
The schools remained locked while police searched for as many weapons as possible, according to Sgt. Jay Barker of the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.
Holly Springs, police told Channel 2 Action News Ross Cavitt a journalist of 17 years and 15 years were taken into custody. Police said they were going to serve a warrant at the home of two students.
Baker said police closed 2300-student school Thursday morning after receiving advice that a student ran away from home the night before and planned to take three weapons to school.
Baker said the student and his friend were taken into custody shortly after the start of school. He said a gun was found in a school bathroom. Police keeping school lock while looking for other weapons.
